TARA MEHTA, Ph.D.

Dr. Tara Mehta is a Consultant and Clinical Psychologist.  She studied and trained in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at The Ohio State University specializing in Anthropology. After archaeological excavation and human skeletal research in New Mexico, she advanced to postgraduate training in psychological assessment, therapy, and clinical research at Pepperdine University and The University of Memphis. While teaching, testing, and providing therapy, she held positions at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, the U.S. Department of Labor, the West Clinic, and VA Medical Centers.
 
Dr. Mehta's professional experience spans the lifecycle across a wide range of settings and includes psychological testing, assessment, and evaluation, individual and group psychotherapy, clinical research, and consultation.  Currently, she works with adults on a variety of issues including adjustment and transition, anxiety, depression, motivation, and relationships.   She believes in and practices a whole life approach to wellness, and she is passionate about connecting and partnering with people who are interested in change, transformation, self-awareness, and seeking a therapeutic relationship.

Dr. Mehta is licensed in multiple states and authorized to practice Telehealth in over 40 States.  More recently, she has been involved in Telehealth, and now sees most of her patients virtually.  Dr. Mehta has an integrative, pragmatic approach to delivering evidence-based interventions. She is guided by patient-centered principles and implements appropriately timed Behavioral, Cognitive, Motivational, and Process-Experiential interventions — all of which have empirical support for a range of problems.
